DJ Cuppy, Her 8 country Tour and My Two Cents

So Dj Cuppy (The daughter of oil magnet and billionaire – Femi Otedola) started off her 8 country Tour some days back. The tour was sponsored by organisations like Dangote Foundation, Ndani TV, GTB, MTV Base, Pulse, Hennessy, Exquisite Magazine and BellaNaija. That is just the side gist. 

The real gist is, this individual by the name pacey went all crazy on the internet. Below is what she wrote 

“I am sick of this emperor’s new clothes bullcrap. How is this not nepotism? An eight day tour sponsored by otherwise reputable organisations: Dangote Foundation, Ndani TV, GTB, MTV Base, Pulse, Hennessy, Exquisite Magazine and BellaNaija!!!!!!! Why? Why?

It’s one thing to go on an eight-city jaunt sponsored by your rich dad; Amadioha knows that I won’t judge you for spending your own money as you see fit (my first reaction is: b*t*h that’s what you’re doing). But it is a whole other matter when you crowd out the market, denying genuinely talented artistes the chance of sponsorship because these sponsors are busy sponsoring a spoilt little rich girl on her holidays (my second reaction: really? Who complained to you?).

I know I will be met with the usual “hater” (which is what you are) retorts, but I don’t care. Established and better accomplished musicians are struggling to find adequate support and sponsorship and here we are, with someone who is meant to be studying for her masters degree in the states with a very dubious claim to DJ-ing always in our face (you and who?). I’m tired (you should be)”.  

Mmmm my people, this one tire me o. I read this and had two reactions. Initial reaction is just feeling sorry for this writer. Like you must be seriously frustrated with life to write these kinds of words against someone you hardly know and it is understandable, times are hard. 

My second reaction is really? Is it her fault that her father is Femi Otedola? Who forces you to even open or read any article with her 8 country tour written as the heading? Suck it up, this is life. All fingers are not equal and have never being. I don’t expect it to. 

A person’s wealthy background or not-so-wealthy one does not determine how well they do in life. Yes, it may give an edge but if you don’t run with it like DJ Cuppy, you will still just be “one of Otedola’s children”. Is Linda ikeji’s father an oil mogul? Is the handsome, talented duo Psquare from the wealthiest of homes? Genevive Nnaji, Mikel Obi, flavour, just to name a few. 

Finally, Pacey, only God gives wisdom, only we can use that wisdom and the result is fame and money. I am encourage by (and the above mentioned celebrities), DJ Cuppy and her dad to work hard, be the I can be so my children and children’s children can enjoy it like she is doing.

Dates And Bills

This conversation has been ongoing for days somewhere on instagram and am pretty fascinated. Males and females have been on each other's throat.  The men first started calling Nigerian women out for always wanting and taking from men and never contributing to dates. They have on many occasions called Nigerian women desperate, gluttons and covetous as they only want men to spend on them/pay all their bills, emphasis was laid on dates. They say women never pay on dates. The women also spoke up and defended themselves as some blatantly see nothing wrong with the guy to pay on dates and taking care of their lady's bills while other gave instances where they had taken care of everything and still the men cheated or was violent towards them and still left. Genotype and Marriage

Hello MEB readers, a very happy Sunday to everyone. Hope you are having a restful evening. Now this genotype issue has been in my thoughts. (I know you think it's about me.
